Deep is calling to deep...
This verse showed up on Biblegateway when I opened the website today. An amazing verse. Psalm 42:8 Deep is calling to deep at the thunder of your waterfalls; all your surging rapids and waves are sweeping over me. (CJB) Let’s stop and think about water. I love being cleansed and knowing I am clean. This verse takes it to a DEEP level. Deep is calling to deep. Waterfalls… I love the sound of the rushing water. I could sit by one for hours. I don’t know where David was when he

But when the kindness...
As I saw down today to catch up on writing my “daily” blog, the word, “kindness” came to my mind. Once again, as I searched for verses with this word, I realized how many there are that could encourage us in our daily walk. I will share them with you over the next several days. Titus 3:4-7 But when the kindness and love for mankind of God our Deliverer was revealed, 5 he delivered us. It was not on the ground of any righteous deeds we had done, but on the ground of his own me

He will make you firm...
This verse came to me as I looked for the word firm. Sometimes we just need a firm foundation. What is that foundation? 2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is worthy of trust; he will make you firm and guard you from the Evil One. (CJB) Only the LORD is worthy of our trust. When we truly BELIEVE that HE is taking care of us, and we FULLY put our TRUST in HIM, than we find a firm foundation. When we trust Him to PROVIDE for us, we will find that we are guarded from the evil one.

Which gives freedom...
Today I started by looking up the word, “endurance.” I found some verses. Some I have already used. Then this one from James popped up, and even though it does not have the word I searched in it, this one does need to be understood. James 1:25 But if a person looks closely into the perfect Torah, which gives freedom, and continues, becoming not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work it requires, then he will be blessed in what he does. (CJB) The book of James is an encoura

So that you won't forget...
Our family continues to read through the Torah. We have entered the final book, which is actually much better than so many people think. The book of Deuteronomy is a re-telling of all that happened to the Children of Israel. Lots of amazing reminders. This verse is one of them. Deuteronomy 4:9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves diligently as long as you live, so that you won’t forget what you saw with your own eyes, so that these things won’t vanish from your hearts. Rathe

Don't be afraid...
Fear. It isn’t something we like to talk about. It isn’t something we like to deal with. And yet it often entangles us and brings stress. We all know there are many verses in the Bible about fear. Some people say that there are 365 of them that tell us to fear NOT. I, personally, have not counted them, but here is one… Isaiah 41:10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you; don’t be distressed, for I am your God. I give you strength, I give you help, I support you with my victorious

When you pass through water...
The book of Isaiah has so many amazing verses in it. The prophets had harsh messages for the people, but they also brought Words of comfort. Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through water, I will be with you; when you pass through rivers, they will not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire, you will not be scorched — the flame will not burn you. (CJB) Friends, it doesn’t matter what you are going through. It doesn’t matter what you have done. GOD is WITH YOU. HE is your source o

We are ambassadors for the Messiah...
Based on some things I have been watching, listening too, and reading… I was wondering about co-working. What does it mean to be a co-worker for Adonai? It brought me to this verse which is actually a little more in-depth, but still thought provoking. 2 Corinthians 5:20 Therefore we are ambassadors of the Messiah; in effect, God is making his appeal through us. What we do is appeal on behalf of the Messiah, “Be reconciled to God! (CJB) What is an ambassador? It is a person wh

Your Words are a doorway...
I love Psalms. I think many of us do. The longest chapter in the Bible has so many great verses in it. The most famous is probably verse 105. This one is similar… Psalm 119:130 Your words are a doorway that lets in light, giving understanding to the thoughtless. (CJB) The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. (NIV) I chose to use two translations. I like how the CJB uses the word, “doorway.” It makes me feel like when I LISTEN to the WORDS

But those who HOPE in Adonai...
Shabbat! It’s another Friday! I certainly hope you have not gotten tired of hearing those words once a week. For me, they really are a source of JOY and PEACE when I know that Shabbat is here. So, another verse about REST!\ Isaiah 40:30-31 Young men may grow tired and weary, even the fittest may stumble and fall; but those who hope in Adonai will renew their strength, they will soar aloft as with eagles’ wings; when they are running they won’t grow weary, when they are walkin
