So that you won't forget...

Our family continues to read through the Torah. We have entered the final book, which is actually much better than so many people think. The book of Deuteronomy is a re-telling of all that happened to the Children of Israel. Lots of amazing reminders. This verse is one of them.

Deuteronomy 4:9

Only be careful, and watch yourselves diligently as long as you live, so that you won’t forget what you saw with your own eyes, so that these things won’t vanish from your hearts. Rather, make them known to your children and grandchildren — (CJB)

Be careful.

Watch YOURSELVES diligently.

Here is the one that is important:

So that you WON’T FORGET what you saw with YOUR OWN EYES.

So that these things WON’T VANISH from your hearts.

How often do we forget what happened 6 years ago? How often do you forget to remind yourself of ALL that God has done for you?

We are supposed to REMEMBER what HE has done. We are supposed to TELL and make it KNOWN to our children and grandchildren. GIVE HIM the honor and glory. GIVE HIM ALL the thanks for what HE has done.

I remember when my grandparents would tell me stories of how God provided in the depression. I have listened to Holocaust survivors tell their stories. I have told my children stories of how God has provided food for us. Trust me… they remember.

Take time today and BE CAREFUL. WATCH YOURSELF. But, most importantly, DON’T FORGET! HE is taking care of you. HE is providing for you.

Love and blessings,

Rose
