Focus on things above...
Our family continues to read through the book of Colossians. It is only 4 chapters, but has a lot power packed in it. Colossians 3:2 Focus your minds on the things above, not on things here on earth. (CJB) Some days we just have to THINK outside the norm. Some days we just have to FOCUS on HIM and not deal with the things around us. What does that look like? Looking a couple verses down in 14 and 15 we read: Above all these, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything

Watch Out!
Today is a Sunday and here in Cyprus it is Easter Sunday for the Orthodox. Yes, they follow a different calendar than the Catholics and Protestants! Orthodox follow the Julian calendar instead of the Gregorian calendar. This is the reason I am choosing to follow the Hebrew calendar, which is the one God established so many years ago. The one HE set up when HE created the world! That is a documentary for another day… As our family continues to read through different teachings

We BLESS you from the house...
We have reached another Shabbat. Another time to focus up to HIM and REST. Because Passover is ending, I have chosen a couple of verses from the Psalms of Hallel (Praise) that are read during this week. Psalm 118:25-26 Please, Adonai! Save us! Please, Adonai! Rescue us! Blessed is he who comes in the name of Adonai. We bless you from the house of Adonai. (CJB) Truly we can say, “THANK YOU, ADONAI” for saving us and rescuing us. We are BLESSED and KNOW that we are because we c

Adonai HEARD my voice!
This is still Passover week for 2019. As a family we are continuing to read the Psalms that are known as “Hallels” or Psalms of Praise. Psalm 116:1-2 I love that Adonai heard my voice when I prayed; because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. (CJB) The whole chapter has LOTS to share with us. I chose these two verses because they are important for us to understand that ADONAI HEARS US! When we pray… When we speak to Him… When we CRY out to Him… HE t

HE is RISEN!
Today is a bit different day… I am celebrating the resurrection of my Savior and Messiah. It is a Tuesday on the day I am writing this in 2019. Why would I celebrate His resurrection on a Tuesday? First, here is a verse about when it happened in the year Jesus died… Luke 24:1-2 but the next day, while it was still very early, they took the spices they had prepared, went to the tomb, and found the stone rolled away from the tomb! (CJB) The end of chapter 23 has the following w

Give THANKS!!!
Today is a day to GIVE THANKS! During Passover there are Psalms read and sung. In the Temple there was a choir. There was singing! This one was known as the great Hallel of Praise! Psalm 136 - I will give a couple verses and encourage you to read the whole chapter! Give thanks to Adonai, for he is good, for his grace continues forever. Give thanks to the God of gods, for his grace continues forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his grace continues forever; Give thank

Jesus stayed Silent...
Friday… It always means Shabbat. This week Shabbat was considered a “high holy Shabbat” because it was also Passover. This means that this year (2019) Jesus was crucified on a Friday. He was buried on a Friday afternoon. 3 days and 3 nights later means He will actually raise again between sundown Monday night and Tuesday morning. Because of the circumstances surrounding what happened 2000 years ago… I chose to read from a passage about the crucification. John 19:9-10 He went

Get RID of the old hametz...
I decided to teach about matzah today, and leaven. This verse came to mind after we bought our matzah for Passover today. We stopped at the local Chabad center after running errands and asked if they had matzah for sale. They had lots of boxes of one brand that was 15 Euros. There was one lonely box on the floor that she said was 6 Euros. I only had a little bit of cash on me, but she did tell me they take debit cards now, however, I decided to take the last box of the one ki

Every year Jesus celebrated...
This week we are busy preparing for Passover. Friday night we celebrate this family dinner together. Today I want to look at yet another verse and reason why we choose to celebrate this holiday. Luke 2:41 Every year Yeshua’s parents went to Yerushalayim for the festival of Pesach. (CJB) We often think that this celebration is just a Jewish feast and we don’t need to celebrate it. However, we also say that we want to be like Jesus and do what Jesus did. I guess we need to ask

Passover...
I decided to write something about Passover and how we will be celebrating this year. It has been on my mind to share with you our plans and how YOU can be a part. I Corinthians 11:23-26 For what I received from the Lord is just what I passed on to you — that the Lord Yeshua, on the night he was betrayed, took bread; and after he had made the b’rakhah (blessing) he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this as a memorial to me”; likewise also the cup after
