Choices...

Matthew 16:21-23

21 From that time on, Yeshua began making it clear to his talmidim (disciples/students) that he had to go to Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) and endure much suffering at the hands of the elders, the head cohanim (high priests) and the Torah-teachers; and that he had to be put to death; but that on the third day, he had to be raised to life. 22 Kefa took him aside and began rebuking him, “Heaven be merciful, Lord! By no means will this happen to you!” 23 But Yeshua turned his back on Kefa, saying, “Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle in my path, because your thinking is from a human perspective, not from God’s perspective!”

Peter... He just declared Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God. One would think that Peter, knowing Jesus is the Messiah, would believe everything He says! Now, he doesn't believe Jesus when the Truth is told. Peter doesn't want to believe that Jesus will need to die.

What I find interesting is that Jesus declares He will raise again on the third day. Knowing that He has already raised other people from the dead, why would Peter choose to not realize that Jesus, being the Son of God, could raise Himself? Also, Jesus had already given them the teaching that He was going to have a sign, the sign of Jonah - three days and three nights.

When I ask myself why Peter would choose to not realize... I must ask myself the same question. Why do I CHOOSE to walk in fear or worry at times? Why do I CHOOSE not to believe the Promises of God? I have a CHOICE! You have a CHOICE!

Too often we let feelings and emotions override the TRUTH that He gives us. Jesus told Peter he was looking at things from a human perspective and not God's. We do just the same thing. We choose to look at things happening around us, instead of asking God what HE wants us to see.

HIS Truth is that He will take care of us. HIS Truth is that HE will bring peace when we TRUST Him. HIS Truth is that HE will give us everlasting LIFE.

What CHOICE will you make today? Will you CHOOSE to read HIS WORD and claim HIS Promises? Or will you let feelings and emotions take over and walk in fear and worry?

Let's walk in HIS perspective today.

Love and blessings,

Rose
