And Keep MY Shabbats Holy...
It’s Friday!!! Shabbat has actually come to our house and we are watching Horton Hears a Who as a family. Some people would say that I should not be typing this now, because Shabbat has already started. Some people would say we shouldn’t be watching a movie! I don’t want to go into all the details of Shabbat and laws because that is not what Shabbat is about. Hopefully I can explain in a short detailed way. The verse I chose for today is from Ezekiel 20:19-20: I am Adonai you

With the Mouth...
Today my verse is from the Bible App again. I really enjoy having these pop up on my screen each morning. They usually make me stop and think, or remind me to be THANKFUL! The verse today was from Romans 10:10. It is not about being thankful, but it could be… For with the heart one goes on trusting and thus continues toward righteousness, while with the mouth one keeps on making public acknowledgement and thus continues toward deliverance. (CJB) My focus is on the last line:

I will sing of YOUR strength...
As our family reads through the Psalms, often there are verses that stick out to me. This morning it was Psalm 59:17 But as for me, I will sing of your strength; in the morning I will sing aloud of your grace. For you are my fortress, a refuge when I am in trouble. The fact that we can sing and find refuge when in trouble, that is comforting. What needs to happen, however, is: I will sing of YOUR strength. Too often we focus on songs that are about getting us out of the pit.

Hidden things...
This morning the Lord woke me up at 4 am. When I woke up and checked the time there was a verse on my Bible App. It was a verse we have heard many times over - Jeremiah 33:3 Call out to me, and I will answer you — I will tell you great things, hidden things of which you are unaware.’” (CJB) I pondered on this verse as I fell back asleep. I like this version for the last line - “Hidden things of which you are unaware.” If I cry out to God, HE will give me an answer. HE will he

I Call to God...
The verse I chose today is from Psalm 57:2. I call to God, the Most High, to God, who is accomplishing his purpose for me. This chapter actually had several verses I wanted to use. Towards the end there were verses about giving thanks and making music. Those are always uplifting and put a song in my heart. I decided to focus on verse two because I thought the last line was important. “who is accomplishing his purpose for me.” Many times when we call out to God we say, “I need

Your body is a Temple...
Hello friends, It has been a couple days since I actually did a FB live video teaching, and so now I need to follow up with my blog! I pray you had a wonderful holiday weekend and are ready and rested for ALL HE has planned this week! Today I used the verse from my YouVersion Bible App from 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: Or don’t you know that your body is a temple for the Ruach HaKodesh who lives inside you, whom you received from God? The fact is, you don’t belong to yourselves; fo

The Word of our God will stand FOREVER!
Today as I was busy preparing for Thanksgiving I felt led to listen to Fernando Ortega. One of my favorite songs of his is the following verse from Isaiah 40:8: The grass dries up, the flower fades; but the word of our God will stand forever.” Things on this earth will always go away. Nothing is made to last… The one thing that gets me through my day is the Word of God. It will always lift my spirit and bring peace to my soul. Recognize it today: only the Word of God has ever

The name of Adonai...
The name of Adonai is a strong tower; a righteous person runs to it and is raised high [above danger]. This verse is probably common and well known for most of you. Some of you might know it as a song. It is from Proverbs 18:10. This version is the Complete Jewish Bible. Why did I choose this? Because we always need a reminder that God is our strong tower. We quickly forget that all we have to do is say HIS name. Adonai Abba Yahweh God Jesus Savior You are not using His name

No one can ever redeem his brother...
As you can probably tell, most of the verses that I use on my FB live videos are taken from either our Torah Time as a family in the morning, or from a verse on my Bible App. Today’s verse was taken from our daily reading of a chapter in Psalms. Chapter 49 is about money and the wealthy. They won’t be able to take it with them when they die. People think themselves happy, but money does not bring happiness. I think that most of us understand this concept. The verses that stuc

My people are hanging in suspense...
Today in our Daily Torah reading we actually read from Hosea. Many people think that the Torah portion is just about the first five books from the Bible. For the most part it is. However, with every Torah portion there is a “half torah” portion that is also read. This part is from the prophets. The verse that stuck out to me is Hosea 11:7 My people are hanging in suspense about returning to me; and though they call them upwards, nobody makes a move. What does this all mean? I
