You were called to be FREE!
July 4th is about freedom. Understanding HOW to be really free is another story…
Galatians 5:13
For, brothers, you were called to be free. Only do not let that freedom become an excuse for allowing your old nature to have its way. Instead, serve one another in love. (CJB)
Paul told the community of faith at Galatia that they were “called to be free.” He KNEW that there was something holding them back and they needed to let go of the legalism and find a freedom from man-made traditions.
It was also communicated to the Galatians that they should NOT let their freedom become an excuse for sin. There is no way that FREEDOM brings the ability to just sin and have the old nature take over.
What is the command given??? What can truly bring FREEDOM?
SERVE one another in love… Let’s think about this. SERVING one another in LOVE will bring freedom! If we STOP and care for one another like God wants us too, there is FREEDOM!
True freedom can only be found when we acknowledge WHO God is in our lives. True freedom can only come when we recognize that HE is the source of freedom.
BELIEVE today that YOU are FREE because you believe in Him. YOU KNOW that you are HIS child so walk in that FREEDOM. This isn’t man-made, this is from God.
