I was given the opportunity through work to attend the Global Leadership Summit. I will admit, it was a stretch for me to sign up and although I used to enjoy these types of conferences, now they fill me with dread. I wonder why we have to spend thousands of dollars to motivate and inspire each other. Why do we have to listen to someone who has "made it big" to motivate us?

My heart is with the day to day, and one person at a time mentality. Be there to change one person. That one person can inspire someone else. Heart to heart conversations in the home or over coffee. The big puts me on edge.

But, I went. I did receive inspiration. I hope and pray I can put it to use. I'm guessing that the next couple weeks my writings be filled with tidbits from this conference.

The first speaker was Craig Groeschel. You can Google him if you want to know who he is. One of the first things he said was, "Great leadership isn't flashy or hyped. Great leadership is boring." He went on to say, "Boring beats brilliant" and "Boring is the pathway to greatness."

These statements resonated with me. We so often believe that great leaders are flashy and "great" in some way (whatever the word "great" means). And yet... there are many leaders who are behind the scenes with their consistency and quiet demeanor that have brought great leadership to an organization. We cannot overlook those who are consistent and kind.

Those words began to stir in me the desire to bring back what used to bring me life. It began to bring to the surface the desire to once again be a light to those around me and inspire them to find ways to motivate others. It reminded me that the "big" doesn't need to be there. It is in the boring and mundane moments that we can listen and care for others.

As you begin the week, may you be inspired to be you. A person created by God to love Him with your whole heart, and then share that love with those around you. May you begin to allow His kindness to stir within in new ways and share that with the people you meet. We aren't called to "big," we are called to love. As the coffee mug in the picture says:

"Go Get Em."

Love and blessings,

Rose
