Don't be Afraid!
Proverbs 3:25-26
Don’t be afraid of sudden terror or destruction caused by the wicked, when it comes; 26 for you can rely on Adonai; he will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.
It might take us a while to get through Proverbs when we only get two verses at a time, but as I said in the beginning, when we read a whole chapter we end up missing pieces that really are important! Take these two verse:
Don't be afraid! One of the ??? times in the Bible that we are told to not be afraid or "fear not." I have heard before that it is 365 times, one for each day of the year. For me, it isn't the number of times, it is the fact that it is said and we need to believe it.
Today, "Don't be afraid!"
The more promising Words are, "of sudden terror or destruction caused by the wicked..."
What is happening in our world? We often feel like the wicked are taking over. Sometimes I think we focus on that too much. What would happen if we focused on the fact that we can RELY on Adonai? What would happen if we would give HIM Praise, Glory and Honor? He inhabits the praise of His people, so I wonder what would happen if we did that instead of focusing on the terror going on... Just something to ponder and reflect on!
The last line tells us what would happen if we RELY on Him...
"He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap."
Stop today and just give all fear and worry to Him. Hand it over. Tell HIM you are going to TRUST HIM. Tell Him that He is all you need! Speak it out and let HIM keep your foot from getting caught.
