And yet...

Proverbs 7:1-5

My son, keep my words,

store up my commands with you.

2 Obey my commands, and live;

guard my teaching like the pupil of your eye.

3 Bind them on your fingers;

write them on the tablet of your heart.

4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister”;

call understanding your kinswoman;

5 so that they can keep you from unknown women,

from loose women with their seductive talk.

Obey my commands and live... This isn't the first time we have read these words. Adonai wants us to understand that when we follow His lead, His wisdom, His thoughts, we LIVE!

God wants us to be wise. There is no reason anyone who listens to His commands would be considered foolish. And yet... I look around and wonder what is happening. Are we following what HE wants? Are we living out the commands HE set in place?

We are supposed to be different. We are supposed to be set apart. And yet, those who say they are set apart often come across as "better than" and "right" than they do wise and understanding. it is a turn off to those who watch from the outside.

When we have wisdom as our "sister" and understanding as our "kinswoman," we should be presenting HIS commands to the world in such a way that others want to be a part. When they are on our fingers and written on our hearts, others should see a difference in our thoughts and actions. And yet...

Too many within the "church" do not know how to show balance to those outside. People either swing so full of grace that "anything goes", or they become so religious and judgmental that they turn people away from God. Neither of these are from God!

Friends, today, work on balance. LISTEN to those He sends your way and share HIS love with them. Let HIS wisdom flow through you to others. Use your fingers, which carry HIS teachings, to show love to others. OBEY His commands and LIVE!

Love and blessings,

Rose
