The Spirit helps us in our weakness...
Weakness… We all have our moments. This is a good verse to be reminded of when we just can’t get ourselves motivated. Romans 8:26 Similarly, the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we don’t know how to pray the way we should. But the Spirit himself pleads on our behalf with groanings too deep for words; (CJB) There is not too much explanation needed for these words. Clear. Precise. To the point. I am thankful that the Spirit inside of me HELPS me. He PLEADS on my behalf. He

O the depth of the riches...
A special verse filled with more promises! I love how the Word is filled with so many gems of Truth. Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches and the wisdom and knowledge of God! How inscrutable are his judgments! How unsearchable are his ways! (CJB) The Passion Translation says it this way (with lots of passion…) Who could ever wrap their minds around the riches of God, the depth of his wisdom, and the marvel of his perfect knowledge? Who could ever explain the wonder of his d

May God, the SOURCE of HOPE...
Hope… Sometimes we just don’t know what it is or how to get it. Romans 15:13 May God, the source of hope, fill you completely with joy and shalom as you continue trusting, so that by the power of the Ruach HaKodesh you may overflow with hope. (CJB) My husband and I were talking with a friend the other day and he said, “I have faith that something good will happen in this situation, but I do not have hope.” That statement made me realize that there is kind of a difference. I h

HE is the GOOD NEWS!
Well… life sometimes has a way of getting us off track or distracted. I enjoy doing my FB live video and then blogging about it. Yesterday life didn’t really go the way I had planned and my blog did not get written! Friday mornings are always extra busy for me/us because we prepare for Shabbat so I am finally getting this done at 2:00 on a Friday afternoon - about the time I would do my Shabbat video. My verse from the FB live video came from Romans. I chose it because it add

Esther as a Living Sacrifice
Today is Purim. Our family continues to read through the Daily Torah Portions. We read the New Testament reading today from Romans. The verse tied in with Purim and the story of Esther. Romans 12:1-2 I exhort you, therefore, brothers, in view of God’s mercies, to offer yourselves as a sacrifice, living and set apart for God. This will please him; it is the logical “Temple worship” for you. In other words, do not let yourselves be conformed to the standards of the ‘olam hazeh.

Is YOUR mind controlled by the Spirit?
I love to read verses about LIFE. When PEACE is added in, a double blessing. The verse today comes from the New Testament portion of the weekly Torah readings. Romans 8:6 Having one’s mind controlled by the old nature is death, but having one’s mind controlled by the Spirit is life and shalom. (CJB) If I want to have LIFE, I MUST have a mind controlled by the Holy Spirit. LIFE and PEACE (Shalom) are available to me as often as I FILL my mind with HIM! It is often easier to le

PATIENTLY hold on to our HOPE...
This verse was another that showed as my daily verse on a BibleApp. I have shared before about what some of this verse means, but today I have a little different challenge. Romans 15:4 For everything written in the past was written to teach us, so that with the encouragement of the Tanakh we might patiently hold on to our hope. (CJB) What does it mean about “written in the past?” Paul was writing to the Romans, so this meant that Paul was speaking about Torah, the Prophets, P

Rejoice in your HOPE...
I love when I find verses that are easy to remember where they are found. Like 33:3 or 10:10. Today when I was looking up verses about patience, this one came up: Romans 12:12 Rejoice in your hope, be patient in your troubles, and continue steadfastly in prayer. (CJB) Three things we NEED to do are found in this verse. 1) REJOICE in your HOPE. 2) Be PATIENT in your troubles. 3) Continue STEADFASTLY in PRAYER. Yesterday we focused on hope and how to find it - because we are bo

Nothing can separate YOU from HIS Love...
A verse about HIS LOVE. What else can there be that is any more important to understand. Romans 8:39 neither powers above nor powers below, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which comes to us through the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord. (CJB) ALL power packed PROMISES in this verse. No power. No other created thing. HIS LOVE is ALL surrounding. It has always been and always will be. When Jesus came as our Messiah everything was solidified.

Torah is LIFE...
I went back and forth today about what verse to read/use. I saw one in Psalms, but I had one from Romans. The one in Romans required more “teaching” because there are layers wrapped around it. However, that is the one I chose to do. Romans 10:5 For Moshe writes about the righteousness grounded in the Torah that the person who does these things will attain life through them. (CJB) I choose to use the Complete Jewish Bible because our family has found that it takes things back
