Narrow Gate

Matthew 7:13-14

13 “Go in through the narrow gate; for the gate that leads to destruction is wide and the road broad, and many travel it;14 but it is a narrow gate and a hard road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

I have always found these verses and thoughts intriguing. Usually the gates that are wide and open have nothing behind them. The ones that are difficult to get into usually have something important or something/someone needing protection on the other side. I'm thinking things like electrical wires, classified information, even people like elderly who have Alzheimer's (a gate/fence around the property keeps them from leaving). Why would Jesus say that the narrow gate that is difficult to get through is the route to choose?

It all comes back to "Ask, Seek, Knock." In order to truly find LIFE, we must search and look. If the gates that are difficult to enter have something important and vital behind them, then the gate to LIFE would be the same way. God protects those He loves! He will place them in safety. We have to CHOOSE to find it! We have to CHOOSE to enter it!

Those thoughts gave me hope and comfort. When it becomes difficult on the "narrow road," I just remember that this is God's safe place for me. He has me protected and right where He wants me.

Love and blessings,

Rose
