Hold to His Promise
Matthew 24:15-22
15 “So when you see the abomination that causes devastation spoken about through the prophet Dani’el standing in the Holy Place” (let the reader understand the allusion), 16 “that will be the time for those in Y’hudah to escape to the hills. 17 If someone is on the roof, he must not go down to gather his belongings from his house; 18 if someone is in the field, he must not turn back to get his coat. 19 What a terrible time it will be for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that you will not have to escape in winter or on Shabbat. 21 For there will be trouble then worse than there has ever been from the beginning of the world until now, and there will be nothing like it again! 22 Indeed, if the length of this time had not been limited, no one would survive; but for the sake of those who have been chosen, its length will be limited.
Daniel 9:27
On the wing of detestable things the desolator will come and continue until the already decreed destruction is poured out on the desolator.”
Daniel 11:31
Armed forces will come at his order and profane the sanctuary and fortress. They will abolish the daily burnt offering and set up the abomination that causes desolation., Daniel 12:11
From the time the regular burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.
Joel 2:2
a day of darkness and gloom,
a day of clouds and thick fog;
a great and mighty horde is spreading
like blackness over the mountains.
There has never been anything like it,
nor will there ever be again,
not even after the years
of many generations.
Daniel 12:1
“When that time comes, Mikha’el, the great prince who champions your people, will stand up; and there will be a time of distress unparalleled between the time they became a nation and that moment. At that time, your people will be delivered, everyone whose name is found written in the book.
These are the prophecies that Jesus referred to when He was speaking to the religious leaders. He was setting the stage for an understanding of things to come.
I have been reading about prophets and what their true nature is supposed to be. The book is called, "Thus Saith the Lord" by John Bevere. It is not what we see today. Today it is used to almost be like fortune-telling. This was not the original intent.
As we draw closer to the return of the Messiah, which we know is going to happen, we will begin to see more and more trouble. I don't claim to know, or understand, all the Words that are spoken and given about His return. What I do know is that every day brings us closer and we simply need to be prepared.
The Words at the end of this passage should comfort us:
"but for the sake of those who have been chosen, its length will be limited."
When we make the choice to follow HIM, we know that He is with us and will protect us. We will see destruction. We will experience pain surrounding what is happening. However, HE is our peace and HE is our comfort.
Hold to HIS Promises. Know that HE is has you in the palm of His hand. He is your Shepherd.
Love and blessings,
Rose
