He knows the heart

Matthew 26:20-25

20 When evening came, Yeshua reclined with the twelve talmidim (students/disciples); 21 and as they were eating, he said, “Yes, I tell you that one of you is going to betray me.” 22 They became terribly upset and began asking him, one after the other, “Lord, you don’t mean me, do you?” 23 He answered, “The one who dips his matzah in the dish with me is the one who will betray me. 24 The Son of Man will die just as the Tanakh (Bible) says he will; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for him had he never been born!” 25 Y’hudah (Judas), the one who was betraying him, then asked, “Surely, Rabbi, you don’t mean me?” He answered, “The words are yours.”

"They became terribly upset."

As I have participated in a Passover numerous times, and I can only imagine what the disciples felt like when Jesus said the words, "Yes, I tell you that one of you is going to betray me." Those words must have set the room on fire... During Passover, would have made it even more interesting.

Friends, the Spirit will bring to light anything hidden. The Spirit will reveal in His way what needs to be brought to the surface.

This is what happened to Judas. He found out that God knows the heart.

It's hard for me to know how to respond to the fact that Judas actually followed through with his plan. Part of me says he should have changed his mind and not betrayed the One he said he loved. And yet, we all know that this had to happen in order to bring out about the plan the Father had in place from the beginning.

God knows ALL things. God works ALL things together for HIS good for those who love Him.

I'm sure the disciples were stunned that day as they sat and heard the words. I'm sure they were all a little frightened as they were trying to process what was about to happen.

Our hindsight is that we know the final pieces. We know how it all brought glory to HIS name.

May God bless you with His peace today in the midst of all the craziness. May you know His peace in these times of uncertainty of who to trust and who to believe. May you know that HE will bring His plan to light.

Love and blessings,

Rose
