The Truth will set you FREE...
A little over a week ago I had conversation with a friend and a verse about truth came up in our conversation. I have been pondering on it since. She had some interesting points. I decided to share about this verse today… John 8:32
you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (CJB)
What one needs to read is the verse before:
So Yeshua said to the Judeans who had trusted him, “If you obey what I say, then you are really my talmidim (disciple) (CJB)
Personally, I have found more freedom in my life since I have come to an understanding of Israel and the calendar God established. Passover, Sukkot, Shabbat… These “laws” as most people see them, have actually set me free. I do not do them as a “law,” but as a fulfillment of ALL that God established with His people. Jesus came and brought completion to God’s plan.
These understandings have helped ground me and establish my Truth. I will share this Truth will those who want to discuss with me. I also know that I cannot impose this on others. Just as it was a journey for me, it is a journey for all.
We are required to seek HIM in Spirit and Truth. Verse 31 says that, “If you obey what I say” then you are “really my disciple” and “THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE.”
You will know the TRUTH. TRUST Him. LISTEN to Him. OBEY Him.
We must all be on a journey to seek TRUTH. I believe that Truth can come from the Word of God. The Words of Jesus are the Words of Torah.
The way to FREEDOM is OBEDIENCE.
