We too were FOOLISH!
Today is April Fool’s Day. I don’t really get into these types of holidays anymore. A verse I always see on this day is the one that says, “A fool says in his heart there is no God.” This is a verse we need to be reminded about, but I looked up other verses about fools or being foolish.
Titus 3:3
For at one time, we too were foolish and disobedient, deceived and enslaved by a variety of passions and pleasures. We spent our lives in evil and envy; people hated us, and we hated each other. (CJB)
“We too were foolish” was the line I was drawn to in this verse. I wanted to see the context this verse was written in so I read all of chapter 3. It began with the thought that we need to submit to government officials, we need to not quarrel, slander no one, be friendly etc… The idea that we have been called to be set apart and kind to those we meet and whose authority we are under.
Verse three comes in to remind us that at one point we too acted foolishly and were disobedient. We lived in evil. We had envy. We had passions and pleasures that were not from God. At some point in our lives we did not have the FREEDOM that we currently have.
Reading on in chapter 3 we know that God, through His Son, delivered us. I LOVE the verses after this one. POSITIVE, ENCOURAGING and HOPEFUL.
Take time to read Titus 3. KNOW that GOD loves YOU and YOU are HIS. Don’t be foolish and disobedient. LISTEN to the HOLY SPIRIT and walk in HIS anointing.
Love and blessings,
Rose
