Water on the thirsty ground...

As we read our Torah Portion this morning, we also read from the “half Torah” or Prophets. Our chapter today was from Isaiah and several verses spoke to me, but this one was refreshing, especially for a Monday.

Isaiah 44:3

For I will pour water on the thirsty land

and streams on the dry ground;

I will pour my Spirit on your descendants,

my blessing on your offspring. (CJB)

Pouring water… Streams on dry ground… What wonderful words to hear on a Monday morning when we usually feel dry and empty instead of refreshed and full.

This chapter is actually Isaiah speaking words to the children of Israel and reprimanding them for falling away from all that God commanded. They had walked away from the commands God gave them when they were in the wilderness. They were choosing to not live by the Torah Instructions He had given them.

As God gave His reprimand, He came back around and told them that He will pour water on their “thirsty land” and He will put streams on the “dry ground.” These are the PROMISES that God blessed these stubborn people with. In the middle of their actions, He still chose to BLESS them.

HIS Spirit would be poured out. HIS blessings would be on their offspring. He truly is a God who forgives and moves forward.

I think this is a great PROMISE for us today. In the middle of all that we have going on, and all of our moments that we don’t follow or listen to our Father, He STILL chooses to pour water for us and He STILL chooses to pour His Spirit on us.

When we choose to follow Him, then those blessings just continue to flow to our offspring.

CHOOSE HIM today. Claim HIS Promises and walk in HIS blessings.

Love and blessings,

Rose
