Valley of Decision

I pondered hard today for a verse. I’m not sure why it was so difficult, but I struggled. Didn’t feel led to share a Psalm. My mind was finally drawn to the book of Joel. So I started reading and ended up in chapter 4 with two verses that our family used to speak out loud every morning at breakfast.

Joel 4:13-14

Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe;

come, and tread, for the winepress is full.

The vats are overflowing,

for their wickedness is great.

Such enormous crowds

in the Valley of Decision!

For the Day of Adonai is upon us

in the Valley of Decision! (CJB)

Why is this verse important?

Valley of DECISION! There are MANY people in this place. This verse uses the words, “enormous crowds.” This was back in the time of the prophet Joel! If there were that many back then, I can only imagine the numbers today.

We all know people in this Valley. In fact, we could be in the valley ourselves!

What are we supposed to do when we are in this place? TRUST God. And we are supposed to SWING the sickle. The harvest is truly ripe and people are READY and waiting to talk.

This is the time for us to ASK GOD what HE wants from us. When we hear we move forward. When we don’t, we wait!

We all know wickedness is growing. More and more are trying to make “sin” correct. If we don’t begin to truly SEEK GOD, the valley of decision is going to grow.

Stand strong, my friends. LISTEN to HIM. HE is the ONLY One we can TRUST. HE will be faithful to SHOW us exactly what to do.

Love and blessings,

Rose
