For you need to HOLD OUT...

Patience… definitely not a word most of us like to hear. I know my children do not like it when I tell them to have patience. And when the following verse popped into my Facebook feed today well… I must say I had to take a big gulp.

Hebrews 10:36

For you have need of patient endurance [to bear up under difficult circumstances without compromising], so that when you have carried out the will of God, you may receive and enjoy to the full what is promised. (AMP)

I also read this in the Complete Jewish Bible:

For you need to hold out; so that, by having done what God wills, you may receive what he has promised. (CJB)

I put the Amplified version first because that is how I read it. Patient ENDURANCE! I freely admit that I am struggling with this right now. I want answers and I don’t want to wait! When the definition of “patient endurance is explained as, “to bear up under difficult circumstances without compromising,” I must take another deep breath.

It’s hard to walk out difficult circumstances. There are days I just want to give up. I must stop, however, and acknowledge that when I do bear up and continue with patience THAN I will receive and ENJOY to the full what is promised.

The Complete Jewish Bible says that when I do what God wills, than I will receive.

Lord, help me today to do what YOU will. Help me to LISTEN and OBEY with PATIENT endurance. Thank you, Father, for giving me the STRENGTH to carry out YOUR will. I desire to HOLD OUT so that I can RECEIVE what YOU have promised.

His promises are true. His WILL is the best. Let’s encourage each other today to carry on and “HOLD OUT.”

Love and blessings,

Rose
