Fear of Adonai
Proverbs 1:7-9
7 The fear of Adonai is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
8 My son, heed the discipline of your father, and do not abandon the teaching of your mother; 9 they will be a garland to grace your head, a medal of honor for your neck.
God created us to LOVE Him, and part of that love means to fear Him. We have all heard that it doesn't mean to be afraid of Him, it is being in awe of Him. It is stopping a recognizing that HE created us and knows all things.
When we TRUST Him and put our HOPE in Him, we begin to gain knowledge and insight from Him. No one should claim to have all the answers, but we can walk out a life of seeking, asking and knocking. That is the beginning of knowledge.
Acting as if we can do life on our own is, well, being a fool. Community is important. We need to have those around us who can walk with us and give guidance. If God is trying to get our attention and we despise what is happening, that is foolishness.
Parents... my children get annoyed with me. My children often say that I just don't understand what is happening in their lives. And yet, I know they will one day recognize that I knew more than they realized. God gave us parents for a reason. He didn't throw us out on our own to survive.
What happens when parents are not there for their children? What happens when parents do not teach their children discipline? We all know that it has affected our society and world. Families are being torn apart. Children do not know how to live lives that bring LIFE for themselves. Lawlessness abounds and we see the results... it hurts the heart of God. Selfishness creeps in, for each their own, and God's plan is thrown out.
And yet, friends, God has a way. God is always seeking out everyone. He wants ALL men to be drawn to Him. So, I pray. I pray for the hearts of my children to know Him in Spirit and in Truth. I pray for the hearts of those around me to be opened and ready to receive ALL that God has for them. I pray that the hearts of my friends and family will be turned to His teachings.
It is my belief that those teachings include an understanding of Israel and God's heart for the land and the people. It is a journey I have been on for sixteen years. I don't claim to have all the answers. God is still working in me to show me His Truths in regards to how I should walk out what He has given to me. Some days it is easier than others, but I KNOW in my heart that is is something I want to share with those around me.
Don't be a fool. Walk in a fear of WHO He is and let Him bring you wisdom. If your father, mother, (or both) forsake you, turn to Him and listen to His teachings. He will take care of you. His Spirit can reveal so much when we just open up to Him.
Love and blessings,
