Kind and Forgiving...
Psalms… Always a comfort on a long and tiring day. Today my verse came when I clicked on BibleGateway and they had this one as their “verse of the day.” It is always fun to just have one “pop up” when you are tired and not sure what you want to look for… Psalm 86:5 Adonai, you are kind and forgiving, full of grace toward all who call on you. (CJB) I admit to being tired today. Maybe it is the colder weather again (although we have nothing here in Cyprus like the US is facing)

I will write it on their hearts...
Our Torah portion this week is all about the instructions that God began to give the Hebrew children. The portion from the prophets is from Jeremiah and it connects because it speaks about the covenant being “written on their hearts.” This verse from Jeremiah 31:32 is what I chose for today. “For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Isra’el after those days,” says Adonai: “I will put my Torah within them and write it on their hearts; I will be their God, and the

Above the furious flood...
There are days when I know exactly what verse I want to share. There are days I get up and have no idea and one will “pop up” on my phone or Facebook. Then there are days like today that when I sit down to do my FB live I have no idea what to talk about. Today was one of those days. Since I have not shared a Psalm in awhile, I thought I would go to chapter 29 and see if anything brought me LIFE. Psalm 29:10-11 Above the furious flood, the Enthroned One reigns, the King-God ru

Set them (YOU) apart as HOLY...
Friends… I want you to know today that God set YOU apart. Several weeks ago I read from a prayer that Jesus prayed before he died. John 17 is a powerful chapter and I know that if you read the whole thing you will be blessed. Today I chose to look at verse 17: John 17:17 Set them apart for holiness by means of the truth — your word is truth. (CJB) Jesus prayed in the garden that YOU would be set apart as HOLY. Do you believe that? Do you KNOW that YOU are chosen to be HIS? Wh

The Word in all its RICHNESS...
Today is a Sunday, but no matter the day of the week, the verse today should encourage us to GIVE THANKS! Colossians 3:16 let the Word of the Messiah, in all its richness, live in you, as you teach and counsel each other in all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude to God in your hearts. (CJB) The favorite part of this version of this verse is, “in all its RICHNESS.” The WORD of God is RICH in TRUTH. The NIV says, “Let the message of Christ

Come to ME... Shabbat REST!
Today is Shabbat. My day was not crazy, but it was not as calm as some! There were things that made it stressful and I had to navigate LISTENING to Holy Spirit in the midst of it all. Because of these situations I chose to look for a verse about REST. These are some of the most common, and yet a great reminder of WHO our rest should be in… Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all of you who are struggling and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn fro

Torah is summed up in one sentence...
Another verse from my BibleApp YouVersion. The book of Galatians is one book I love to read in the Complete Jewish Bible. The way it is explained is unique, and emphasizes the fact that it is not the “law” that is being discussed, but Torah. Galatians 5:14 For the whole of the Torah is summed up in this one sentence: “Love your neighbor as yourself”; (CJB) Most translations say Torah is “law.” Take for instance the TPT For love completes the laws of God. All of the law can be

Adonai is my LIGHT...
This verse was on the calendar today and is a great reminder for all of us about WHO God is. It is a strong statement about the attributes of Adonai. Psalm 27:1 Adonai is my light and salvation; whom do I need to fear? Adonai is the stronghold of my life; of whom should I be afraid? (CJB) A favorite verse of mine, this should encourage us to HOLD on to God. HE gives LIGHT. HE gives salvation. Because of HIM we have NOTHING to fear. Our Creator is a STRONGHOLD. See Him as a RO

Keep paying attention...
It is another day and we have much to be thankful for. Even when the sun doesn’t shine, or things seem difficult, we can find something to give thanks about. I have shared a lot about giving thanks. So, this morning when the following verse showed up on my BibleApp, it intrigued me to want to share about community. Hebrews 10:24 And let us keep paying attention to one another, in order to spur each other on to love and good deeds, (CJB) What does this verse have to do with co

I will place the key of David...
The verse today is one that I saw posted somewhere on Facebook. I liked the reference (22:22). However, I also like the words. They are more powerful than many realize. Isaiah 22:22 I will place the key of David’s house on his shoulder; no one will shut what he opens; no one will open what he shuts. (CJB) Our family has verse cards that we used to quote and say every morning. They would speak LIFE over us. One of them was, “God opens my mouth and no man can shut it, God shuts
